Scholarship Information
The brothers of Omicron Phi Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. are pleased to make available the Major (Ret.) Henry Montgomery JROTC Scholarship to a deserving male senior student who is actively participating in a JROTC Program wishing to continue his education. The scholarship is a one-time award of one thousand dollars ($1000.00) given in honor of the late Henry E. Montgomery, a noted and devoted educator and JROTC instructor in Metropolitan Atlanta.
Requirements
The recipient of this award will be a JROTC male high school senior who has at least a 2.8 GPA and meets the following minimum requirements: 950 on the SAT or 18 on the ACT. In addition, the student must be actively participating in JROTC at his school. The individual selected will be interviewed and must demonstrate a strong desire to succeed and become a positive contributor to our community. Any deserving senior active in JROTC is welcomed to apply, however additional points will be given to student applicants that reside & matriculate within the cities that make up the Omicron Phi Lambda Chapter service area (Southwest Atlanta, East Point, College Park, The City of South Fulton, Palmetto, Union City, Fairburn, Hapeville, and Chattahoochee Hills). All applicants must submit the scholarship application with appropriate attachments by the deadline.
Deadline
To be considered for this scholarship, you must submit this application on or before Friday, April 11th, 2025.
